“Disability Awareness and Sensitivity Program”
We believe that teaching disability awareness to children is an invaluable opportunity for them to learn about people that they may encounter and don’t understand, or may even fear. Our presentation gives children the chance to experience first hand what it may be like to be visually, physically or intellectually disabled. During the program, we allow a substantial amount of time for the students to ask questions of the presenters.
This program covers a variety of disability awareness and sensitivity information. The presenters of the program are people with and without disabilities that have worked in the disability field for many years. The presentation is done at the school or camp location, and runs up to 1.5 hours, but we will tailor the time to your request. We use props and equipment for our hands on, interactive approach.
