Progressive Center organizes events and clubs designed to get you out having fun!
Through a grant from the County of Mercer, Office on Disability Services, PCIL offers a fully accessible arrangement of recreational activities in our Community Connections Program. The program is designed to increase access to the many social opportunities in and around Mercer County and reduce social barriers for people with disabilities.
Our events provide a safe and secure environment where everyone can enjoy all sorts of activities. Visit the calendar of events page or contact Recreation Coordinator, Reed Thomas to be added to our mailing list of events.
Community Connections offers a variety of events for its residents of Mercer County. The program welcomes individuals of all ages, with and without a disability, families and friends. Don’t miss out on some exciting opportunities to meet new people and find new interests.
If you’re into the outdoors, every year we host a picnic along Lake Mercer in beautiful Mercer County Park which includes options to ride in a pontoon boat, or you may choose to participate in the many of the different hands-on sports activities we plan throughout the year including our annual Softball Tournament played at the Miracle League Field at Hamilton YMCA on Sawmill Road! If you don’t like to play sports, but you enjoy watching them, don’t worry! We host plenty of spectator friendly events throughout the year, such as taking trips to see Trenton Thunder, Yankees, Red Sox, Globetrotters, and event the NJ Trenton Devils. If you’re not so much into the outdoors or sporting events, we also take trips to the museums, Camden Aquarium, local theater shows and have even traveled to New York City to see Musicals!
This program is host to some of Mercer’s most interesting places and activities, so come out and see what’s happening this year. Members receive special discounts on events within the community and are able to participate in community events with the ease and comfort of hanging out with like minded individuals.
For upcoming events see our calendar. Various activities are arrange monthly and fees may apply. Most events require preregistration, so make sure you read the details of the event well in advance!
